HOMECONTACTSHOWS & PRESSSTATEMENTGALLERY

Complessità is the literal Italian translation of the word complexity. The root, complex, refers to many interconnected and often intricate parts. In Psychology, the word complex refers to a system of interrelated, emotion-charged ideas, feelings, memories, and impulses that are usually repressed.

This series of work was the last body of work created for my MFA thesis show in 2008 and were done in response to the larger hanging body of work for the show. They are made with plaster and paper and hang from the ceiling with filament.

They pieces were, in fact the genesis of the work that would follow. Ironically, these small intimate pieces and the idea of them transformed into to monumental scale outdoor sculptures.
