2009 Gallery

“Emancipate I" is my first large-scale outdoor sculpture.  The images below show different views of the piece as it currently is installed at Ft. Zachary Taylor State Park in Key West, Florida as part of Sculpture Key West 2009.  It is approximately 15’ tall and is made of fiberglass and resin over wire mesh forms and supported by a steel armature.

The making of this piece – from conception to installation – afforded me many challenges to overcome and new horizons still to face. “Emancipate” turned out to be the perfect title for this sculpture, even though I didn’t know at the time how liberated it was and how much more so I have become.

Thanks for looking!
